Revolution has the potential to be one of those releases. Join The Underground and take down The Society’s bosses including its most notorious boss Valeria. The Society is pulling the strings in secret, and they’ve taken Peely in their spite.
Steam is generally receptive to mods, and there are some fantastic ones out there that add lengthy campaigns that could easily pass for new games in their own right. Chapter 5 of Fortnite Battle Royale brings a beautiful new Island, but not all is what it seems. The story is set in the Aperture facility and is advertised to have over 40 puzzles that expand on the ideas of the original sequel. Set between the events of the official games, Portal: Revolution seeks to offer a genuinely fresh adventure with new types of puzzles and characters. Revolution does not require any other investment, and its description paints a picture of an ambitious and expansive project. Now, technically, this recommendation is not free since players need to own Portal 2, which naturally costs money however, one has to assume that many Steam users have access to Valve's classic already, especially since it is regularly on sale for nearly nothing. Portal: Revolution has the potential to fill that void, and the mod is set to launch at the beginning of January 2024. As Valve seems allergic to third entries, Portal fans need to look inward to experience something akin to a sequel or a prequel.
